ATORIE BU is a ceramic studio in Istanbul, Turkey, running by artists Buket Kınalıkaya.
Se was born in Mersin, Turkey in 1985.
She graduated from the Master course at Ceramic Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2012 and founded her studio in Istanbul in 2016 after working as an assistant of Kristin McKirdy.

‘ Over two thousand human and animal figurines were created by a widow and her many children. They passed quiet moonlit nights performing stories of brave animals helping children defeat the dirty deeds of evil shamans.
An anarchist gardener in the Nile Delta served an offering to a beautiful lady. He filled a bucket with pomegranate and fig blossoms and placed it on her table. He was the first flower arranger.
The unknown gossip columnist, daughter of a Corinthian potter. She scratched cartoons on her father’s grain containers. Dramas and love affairs of jealous celebrities slipped on trade boats and shipped to unknown shores. Her identity is subject of a new-historical docu-drama mini-series.
A handsome prize winner, whose feats in tennis surpass that of any hercules. A few daydreams stick with me. Clay sticks to me, it sticks to you.
Clay sticks to itself, it’s dusty, it’s old, it cracks, it’s a total mess. Some messes are good messes. ‘

Teapot with lid also used as a cup.
