“Letter Opener is the result of many processes. A solid piece of wood was hand-carved, then sand-cast in bronze. This bronze part was then itself carved to hone the details of shape and line. This iterative carving process—with the letter opener being shifted throughout, from left hand to right and back again—generated an asymmetric, undulating tool with satisfying weight and an excellent fit for the hand, marking a distinction from the typically thin letter opener.
Using the bronze master copy, individual pieces are sand-cast and then hand-polished to fully reveal the intricacies of the object.” - Shane Krepakevich
