LA MONTAGNE by NITSA MELETOPOULOS

‘ This mountain is a vase. It is a poetic relation to surfaces which brought me to this shape. Built with pieces of asphalt, it's resonating with souvenirs of the steel netted cliff roads leading to my summer holidays. High-altitude lakes and melting glaciers. Scharp rocks on top of the world. ‘

Nitsa Meletopoulos obtained her DNSEP at the ‘Beaux-Arts d'Avignon’ (FR) in 2010. She creates sculptures, collages and in-situ installations. During a residency in Leipzig (DE) in 2013 she works with clay and it is a revelation. This was followed by a 4-year stay in Leipzig. She works for a ceramics factory as a painter, at the same time she co-manages the cultural platform and the Franco-German Fugitive Artistic Residency. In 2018 she returns to France to study ceramics more deeply and technically at the Maison de la céramique de Dieulefit. She graduated last October and is currently working in Burgundy (FR) in a collective workshop.
