Ries is a Buenos Aires based studio devoted to designing and producing furniture, objects and spaces.
The studio’s approach to design is influenced by the mixed background in architecture and industrial design of its members, who through a shared vision achieve to combine different materials with production processes that are rooted both in craft and industry to create pieces and experiences that seek to elevate the experience of the everyday living. Ries’ former co-founders and directors Marcos Altgelt and Tasio Picollo are architects by the University of Buenos Aires (FADU-UBA).

Torii Stool was first conceived for the first edition of Quick Tiny Shows, the design exhibitions Ries and Juan Garcia Mosqueda, Chamber gallery’s director run in Buenos Aires.
The stool is the first exploraMon in this technique and materials for Ries Studio, who through this piece wish to explore further the capacity of this shape to be casted and craNed in an wide range of materials.
